Patricia Harvey-Thompson and Stephen Evans welcome you to their 17th century Manor House La Cour du Verger.
Located in ROUSSAC, in the heart of the Limousin countryside in the Haute Vienne, we are a 25 minute drive North of Limoges Airport.
Our home is set in 30 acres of parkland, woodland and fields.  A pathway through the gardens and woodland leads down to the three acre lake where rhododendrons grow at the waters edge.
La Cour du Verger is an ideal place for those who wish to relax in peaceful surroundings, enjoy walking, cycling and photography or as a base from which to explore the beautiful countryside and historic villages.  We are ten kilometres from Lac Saint-Pardoux  - a 825 acre lake popular for its beach and aquatic sports.

Two guest rooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, are situated in the Manor House on the first floor. Both rooms have lovely views across the fields. Continental breakfast in the guest breakfast/morning room is included. Tables and sun umbrellas are provided for those wishing to take their breakfast outside on warm sunny mornings

From June 2008 a separate one bedroomed cottage accommodating two people and a gite accommodating three people will be available for rent on a self-catering basis. All accommodation is furnished to a high standard. .

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is payable four weeks in advance of
arrival

 

We keep a supply of brochures which list the various activities in the region

.                     The three acre lake which is a five minute walk from the Manor  House.
                        Children under the age of 16 must be supervised at all times
while staying at La Cour du Verger as the lake cannot be seen from the house or grounds
                        Guests are welcome to use our small boat when available. 
                        Fishing in the lake -  bring own equipment
                        We do not allow swimming in the lake for safety reasons.
                       
.                    The Limousin region is a popular area for walking. La Cour du Verger is on the edge of the Limousin Forest – the largest forest in Europe.  There are many miles of paths and tracts.

Roussac is a very small village but we do have an excellent little restaurant ‘La Fontaine Sainte Martial’ that is open for lunches.  Bread, milk and basics are available in the adjoining bar/shop.

Saint-Pardoux lake and beaches are approximately 10 kilometres away - a popular place for aquatic sports

The nearest flying and gliding club is at Limoges Airport

 

The city of Limoges is a thirty minute drive south.  It has a 2000 year history and is famous for its porcelain, enamel and stained glass

Bellac – a fifteen minute drive – holds a National Festival from July to August (classical music, concerts in small churches)

Chateauponsac – a ten minute drive – has a Museum of Art

Large supermarkets are within a fifteen minute drive of La Cour du Verger and several high quality restaurants are within a fifteen to twenty minute
